OS/2 EZINE is a great e-zine all about the world's greatest operating system. (We have to say that or all the OS/2 users -- an ardent bunch -- will flame us to death.)
Seriously, there are many excellent reasons to use OS/2 despite IBM's almost complete lack of recent support for this fine product. It has built-in speech recognition that works better than any "voice in, typed text out" product we've seen for Windows. It's easier to install (at least for experienced DOS and Widows users who lack UNIX training) than Linux. It's a fast OS. It's an OS with excellent and flexible GUIs available for it. But, sadly, it's not a very popular OS.
And so, as with Linux, and most other PC operating systems from which The World's Richest Man does not personally profit, hardware choices for OS/2 are somewhat limited, and the same goes for software. The only sane way to use a non-Gates operating system is to band together with others who share your inclination (and operating system) and pass information back and forth amongst your particular computing tribe.
And as some American founding father was supposed to have said once upon a time, there is no way to create a community without a newsletter or newspaper to bind it together. (We think we read this on a Linux site somewhere, but it applies to OS/2 as well.)
OS/2 e-Zine is just that kind of binder for the OS/2 community. Sure, there are other OS/2 publications out there, but this is an especially fine one that takes the concept of reader input seriously, as any publication oriented toward the needs of a small-but-special group must.
The spelling and grammar isn't always perfect here, but this is common of OS-oriented specialty 'zines, and does not detract from their utility if the content is squared-away technically, which OS/2 e-Zine certainly seems to be.
