What is this current craze with coaching all about? As if I need someone to manage my life for me. Or cheer me on. Well, maybe a cheerleader would be nice for a while. But even that would get irritating at some point. Can't people live life anymore without trying to find other fallible humans to hold their hands?
Anyway, if you're going to have a mentor, shouldn't it be someone you know and trust instead of a eeny-meeny-miney-mo out of the Yellow Pages? After all, the person your pinkie lands on might not have life philosophies with which you agree, and there goes another $100 out the window.
A look at the current issue of "Pinnacle Perspective" shows a few long articles of the rah-rah type. The first tells a children's baseball team manager how to motivate the kids to be winners.
Then, of course, there are the sales pitches and links to products and the ever-present 'bookstore.' Ya gotta wonder how many of these people are actually making money at this stuff.
