Here's a good list for the brave souls who run or want to run Linux on a laptop. There's plenty of free advice for the taking here; but if you don't see the answer to your question, sign up and post away. You'll probably get a pretty quick response.
As you'd expect, the members are helpful and eager to share their experiences and expert knowledge. To give you an idea of what you'll find, here's a portion of a post:
"Another problem I encountered during my own setup(would you believe an 75mhz, 8mb Cyrix system?) is that the new kernel does indeed hang when attempting to use a PCMCIA card that is not supported(see a list of supported drivers and cards at any Web site).
"One quick way to overcome this problem is to "create" another boot disk with the following Linux programs: Minicom, Nxterm,and the dip login files. You have to configure these programs to log you in to the Red Hat site using FTP.
"I really dont know why, but using a configuration file with Minicom and FTP will probably help."
