ClickZ Today rather immodestly refers to their newsletter as "The Ultimate Guide to Online Publishing, Marketing, and Design." I won't go that far. There are a lot of very good guides to online publishing matters, and this is one of them.
I am always a little leery of places which tout themselves as "The Ultimate," "The Greatest," and so on, so I went to this newsletter expecting to be disappointed. I was not.
If you subscribe to this newsletter you'll get insightful articles on everything to getting better placement on the Yahoo! search engine to tutorials on advertising to e commerce tips, software reviews and download locations, and advice on how to put together a media kit. These folks have gone to the effort to cover a lot of important areas before publishing their product. Besides the foregoing, their subject areas include Banner Campaigns, Pricing Models, Marketing Research, International Agencies, Creative Content --- just about every area that a on-line operation would have on its "TO DO" list.
Here are a couple sample "teasers" from one their recent editions:
"ONE TO ONE MARKETING
"Achieving Anonymous Personalization
"by Cliff Allen
"Personalization versus privacy. It's not a question of which will ultimately prevail. But rather, how can marketers have both?"
"O N L I N E O P E R A T I O N S
"Whither Web Budgets? "by Chris Maher
"This article is meant for Webmasters,Web evangelists, and corporate Web marketers who still have the uneasy feeling that they're not being included in all the reindeer games. It's been hard for you thus far. But gird up your loins, friends, because it's probably going to get tougher. Chris Maher tells you how to cope."
This newsletter does indeed have articles from a competent staff of writers on just about any subject someone working in online publishing, whether as an independent or in a corporate environment, would be interested to learn more about. You can preview their archives at their Web site before deciding to subscribe.
