Europemedia
EUROPEMEDIA.COM is the E-zine of the "new media" community across the pond and in Israel. It's stated goal is "building the foundations for European new media." It welcomes partners from all over the world interested in receiving news reports about the development of European online markets.

I'll share what they have to say about themselves without the usual "[sic]" notations or editing.

"Welcome to Europemedia, the Web site which is building the foundations for European new media. Over the next few weeks we will create a site full of the latest news and analysis from each of the major European publishing markets. We have an experienced country editor in over 20 countries already, and will be adding more in the coming months.

"europemedia.com publishes each week on a Wednesday with content from a wide network of country editors throughout Europe and Israel. The weekly newsletter covers internet news and issues in the broadest sense, including developments in the field of telecommunication, cable and satellite, regulation and policies, and all aspects of online publishing.

"europemedia.com is proud of its partners and contributors from many different countries and markets. It is their particular knowledge and contribution that has brought nearly 2,000 high level subscribers to the service as of March 99. And we have no intention of ever stopping. So join us in our quest to cover everything that makes these European markets unique and special - and our search for the special people who are driving European online media."

This project has a very high-cred team of Europe media types behind it.

Robin Hunt - launch editor of Wired UK, Head of the Guardian New Media Lab, founding partner arehaus new media publishing consultancy - www.arehaus.com; visiting Professor, department of Informatics at City University in London; and a judge for the British NetMedia Online Journalism awards to be held in July.

Norbert Specker - owner and organiser of Interactive Publishing, an annual conference in Zurich (the next, and sixth, takes place between Nov. 17 -19, 1999.)

Monique van Dusseldorp - founder and Director of Van Dusseldorp & Partners, an Amsterdam-based research company; former Director of Communications of the European Institute for the Media (Duesseldorf), responsible for the European Television and Film Forum.

If you are interested in what the European digerati are thinking, this might be a newsletter and Web site to your liking.
