The CITY EXPRESS NEWSLETTER is a project of the Motor City Mega Cash Mall and suggests that it is a great tool for investing and financial planning. TechMailings Guy is always leery of investment tipsters, but I decided to give this enterprise the benefit of the doubt.
Part of the reason that I'm always leery of places like this is because of entries like one I found while perusing their archives. You read this sample and draw your own conclusions.
"THE GIANTS ARE COMING! THE GIANTS ARE COMING!
"The biblical story of David and Goliath is about to resurrect and replicate it's epic saga in cyber-space. The race is on as every Tom, Dick and J.C. Penny gets it's binary spit together to compete with you on the World Wide Web. So many late bloomers, but your nice little neighborhood cyber-shop will soon be standing in the shadows of every King Kong Cyber-Superstore.
"The Big Question is: can you still sell enough on the World Wide Web to keep food on your table and clothes on your family's back? Or better yet, to realize your financial goals, increase your standard of living and actually 'retire' comfortably from the fruits of e-commerce?
"The answer is YES!
"I am living proof that an average person can carve out his or her own niche on the Net. I AM competing with the Wall Street Giants and getting more than my fair share of the cyber-pie. And there's only one reason - the VERY SAME REASON these Goliath's will do very well on the Web - Reputation!
"Ok, now before you start thinking that I'm comparing myself to Wal-Mart, I'm not. But what I have created for myself is a very broad and I believe good reputation on the Internet. It is this reputation that is the sole reason for my being able to make a good living off the Web when the vast majority of independent Internet marketers are not...."
I don't know about you, Gentle Reader, but when TM Guy sees or hears that phrase, "... realize your financial goals, increase your standard of living and actually 'retire' comfortably..." my antennae start to quiver nervously. I'm not saying that this is a justified reaction in this particular case, but it's my reaction.
So judge for yourself is this a newsletter meant for you.
