If you visit MACMARINES you'll notice immediately that the fervor for the Apple Computer Macintosh OS has been obscured by the new Linux fury, but it has not gone away. This is an e-zine for the true Mac addict. Read what they say on the opening page of the Web site:
"When the project is challenging, and the deadline is looming, then you'd better hope you're using a Macintosh. The Macintosh is responsible for the majority of advertising content, web content, and video editing. Mac users are not concerned with market share, they are concerned with quality.
"The MacMarines is a community of Mac users from all over the world who are bound together by their loyalty to the computer "for the rest of us." We have risen to defend our platform of choice from the oppression of untruth. We will battle lies with the truth, misinformation with the facts.
"We are fighting to preserve a choice in operating systems and platforms. Because the Mac is still easier to use. Because the Mac has superior multimedia capabilities and unique technological advantages. Because for creative people who demand a better computing solution, like web and graphics designers, the Mac is still the best choice. And because the Mac just makes computing more fun.
"We are the few, the proud, the MacMarines. And we have taken a stand to fight back for the Mac."
These folks make no bones about being die-hard Mac enthusiasts and provide tons of Mac-related information, tips, tricks, breaking news, new games being released for the Macintosh platform, ammunition for those inclined to "fight back for the Mac" against what they consider the misinformation campaigns of other platforms. Unless you yourself are a dyed-in-the-wool Mac OS enthusiast, don't go here.
If you are a computer user of the Mac orientation, you will LOVE this place. The design sense is everything you'd expect from Mac addicts. The camouflage motif fits well with the attitude exhibited here, as well. They have a special link to kickbutt.com, Guy Kawasaki's Web site, where you can preview his latest paeans. (Guy Kawasaki, for the non-Mac readers, is one of the premier Mac Evangelists.)
If you are one of the take-no-prisoners style of Macintosh users, this place will be added to your bookmarks almost immediately. Recommended.
