FUSELETTER is another site and list for those of you involved in Web site design and development. The difference between FuseLetter and the resource I reviewed in the previous TechMailings is that this one is specific to those of you either interested in or already using NetObjects Fusion. Fusion is a respected Web development tool that is sophisticated and one which a number of Web developers swear by. If you are considering this software, FuseLetter is a good place to start.
The Web site takes you through a step-by-step approach to both planning and designing Web sites and getting up to speed in NetObjects Fusion. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced Web developer you'll find some topic covered here that will be of value for you.
When I went to the FuseLetter archives and looked at Number 8, I found entries like these for the newsletter:
"What's New?
"* HEAR YE, HEAR YE
"http://www.efuse.com/Build/web-audio-basics.html
"Want your Web message to be heard loud and clear? Bob Weibel introduces you to audio on the web. He explains the basics of audio file formats, and shows you the easiest way to add sound to your site. Come hear what you've been missing.
"* SEVEN STEPS TO YOUR SECOND DRAFT
"http://www.efuse.com/Design/wa-seven-steps.html
"Writing about writing is like talking about sex" (or so columnist Chris Meeks pondered as he looked at his gorgeous blue screen). Doing it better is no easy feat -- but here are seven steps you can take to help (your writing).
"* WANT TO DOUBLE YOUR SITE TRAFFIC OVERNIGHT?
"Who doesn't? But maybe it's time to get real. Daniel Janal explains how even if you're doing well, if you're not realistic you can be unhappy, and how even good ideas can get you nowhere if they aren't well executed. Then he teaches some important lessons to learn when it comes to marketing...."
Besides the introductory editorial, there were five other features after those listed above in FuseLetter Number 8. In other words, at least one topic covered in each edition will pique your interest if you are a Web developer.
Recommended.
