The Internet Insider
THE INTERNET INSIDER is a site and list produced by an outfit called AIS Media, Inc., for Webmasters and e-Commerce types who want to keep informed about developments in this medium. When I checked Internet Insider out, their homepage proudly stated that they had over 27,000 subscribers.

Internet Insider offers a mix of breaking Internet news and commentary on the latest trends in e-Commerce, who's coming to the Internet and why, and marketing tips for on-line businesses.

Here's a sample from an article run in July:

"Successful Advertising Secrets
"By Betty Wilkins

"The Number One Secret - E-Zine advertising, the most highly effective method of advertising online. These are the classified ads that you often find scattered throughout emailed newsletters. Believe it or not, this method of advertising has quickly become the easiest way to drive targeted traffic to a website.

"You need to see this first-hand to believe it. Before placing my first E-Zine classified, I would not have believed it if I had been told that a $25-$50 e-zine ad could result in hundreds of dollars worth of sales in the matter of a couple of days -- but it happened.

"This is exactly what can happen when you have a good product or service and advertise it in an E-Zine. It is not difficult to realize how a targeted ad in an E-Zine with 20,000 subscribers will pull more traffic and orders than 100,000 or more unsolicited emails. It does cost to place your ad, but the rewards are more than worth the small amount of money you will spend. It is fruitless to waste your time and money using "bulk friendly" service providers or spammers-for-hire, when you can have your ad sent to 20,000 or more interested readers in a targeted newsletter for just pennies per subscriber..."

If you are looking for ways to make your Web site more profitable, or ideas which might help improve its performance, this list seems like a good one. With so many marketing e-zines that offer fluff or hype, it's rare that you find one with clear and useful information. The Internet Insider is one. Recommended.
