The Rave Tech Tips
Reviewing THE RAVE TECH TIPS presented your Tech Mailings Guy with a real problem. I mean, you know those movies that feature computers where there's always some Alpha Geek who's supposed to crack into the Powermad Megalomaniac's Network and bring it down? You know how they try a few passwords and then say, "Maybe I can get in through the back door." Well, that's how I felt about The Rave Tech Tips here: they came in through "the back door." The reason I say this is because the site and newsletter you'll find here is *nothing* like their description in the Mailing List Details here at TM. But stay with me.

First of all, there are no computer tips on any of the The Rave sites (The Rave is a network of Web sites --- The Rave Humor Site, which is the one they provided the link for in our Mailing List Details, The Rave 4 Adults, The Rave for Cheapos, and The Rave 4 Kids.) From what I saw The Rave is just a kind of quirky, fun, general interest place to go. Somewhere you might visit when the Boss is not looking over your shoulder.

What kind of stuff will you find there? Well, recipes, a "different" kind of horoscope, Guy & Girl Advice, This Week in History, a Picture of the Week, Movie Reviews, that sort of thing.

Which is cool, I guess. But it ain't "tech tips," as the blurb they listed here at TechMailings claims. The back door.

Here's a sampling of what it is:

" Editor's Choice Recipe by Deb
"()

"Three Layer Brownies

"Ingredients: 1brownie mix (and ingedients to make it)
"1 package pemixed frosting mint extract (to taste)
"1 Hershey Milk Chocolate Bar
"1 stick butter or margarine (you want equal amounts of chocolate and butter) (if you have made a 9 x 13 pan of brownies, I would double these amounts.)

"Directions: Prepare brownies according to package directions (if you choose to use your favorite brownie recipe that is ok) Flavor the frosting with the mint to taste (add the mint in very small amounts as it is rather strong and again, if you wish to make your own frosting from scratch, go for it). After the brownies are thoroughly cooled, frost with the mint frosting. Melt the butter and chocolate on low heat or the microwave. Drizzle it over the frosting and shake the pan a bit to cover it well. Allow the chocolate to cool. Cut into small pieces (again the mint can be overwhelming) and enjoy them. These taste very similar to Peppermint Patties..."

Yumm!
