THE HYPER is a monthly commentary 'zine put out by the respected new media design firm, methodfive. It's a little philosphical, but its orientation toward 'net-oriented PR, advertising, and promotion make it well worth reading.
Maybe we're too used to "hard nuts" conversations with and between programmers and engineers, and this is what gives us a little bit of an "uh-huh" attitude toward The Hyper. We know these guys have important things to say. And we learn something from every issue. So we'll glean the info and ignore the pretentious style.
According to its Website blurb, The Hyper is "...for publishing and media professionals interested in the emerging digital culture. 100 percent unique content. Real analysis, real insight, and relevant reporting."
The Hyper is worth a subscription. They give what they promise, and then some. Plus (surely unintended), plenty of insight into the thinking of a group of Silicon Alley (NYC) Web design hotshots whose own Website is horribly hard to read for anyone over 40 with a 14" or 15" monitor set to a middle-of-the-road 800 X 600 pixels.
