VISBAS-L is a hard-core advice swap and tip exchange list for professional Visual Basic programmers. It is not a place to exchange recipes, gardening experiences or neighborhood gossip. Purely Visual Basic. Nothing else.
Disclaimer from listowner Nathan Brindle: "The list is not sponsored in any way by Microsoft, although Microsoft employees and particularly Visual Basic design staff are welcome and encouraged to subscribe."
There are, no doubt, at least a few MS employees among the ~4600 VISBAS-L subscribers. And that's good! Since this is a mutual knowledge build-type list, members who can discuss Visual Basic from an insider's perspective are necessary.
The archives are an amazing source of enlightment into the ways and wherefores of Visual Basic. This is one of the Internet's "senior" e-mail newsgroups, with posts saved back to 1992. Use of the "search document" feature in any major Web browser on any of the one-month-long archive pages will probably turn up an answer to almost any basic VB question. And as is always the case in a free-for-all "help" list, it is correct, netiquettly, to do this before posting a question.
A final note: this list is for experienced Visual Basic programmers. If you are new to VB, there's a whole separate list for you on the same server. To learn more about it, click here.
