VR-ART is a small, unmoderated list that is supposed to be about virtual reality art. It's not new; the archives go back to 1995. But in 1998 it descended into a possibly terminal spiral. Its only purpose these days seems to be announcements of upcoming VR conferences and associated calls for papers.
We're reviewing this list more out of pity than love. The subject matter is worthwhile, and germane to many computer professionals, but apparent abandonment by the listowner has led to a content that can be up to 50 percent spam, along the lines of "free credit card acceptance for your Web site."
Oh, well. Not everything on the Internet is successful.
The only good reason to subscribe to VR-ART is if you have no other source of information about virtual reality conferences and other events, especially those held in Europe. Otherwise, it's probably a waste of time -- but not that much time, since it only averages about five messages per month, including spam.
