AUSONLINE'S PERIODICAL E-ZINE talks about Personal Digital Assistants. It claims to offer the "Latest Palmtop Technology News on the Net." And yes, it does. It's essentially a news aggregator that searches several major online news sites, like ZD-Net, C-Net, and News.com, and spits every article they run about PDA's to you as e-mail almost immediately.
Since the hand-held "almost a computer" device market is moving rapidly these days, there's a lot of news on the subject to read. A lot of it is re-written press releases, but isn't this true of (sigh) most computer and Internet newsfeeds anyway?
At least this one sticks to its topic closely. If it isn't news -- or at least a press release -- about PDAs or palmtops, you won't see it here.
AusOnline is in the business of selling and servicing PDAs and Palmtops. In Australia. Remember, though, that on the Internet distance is no boundary. They get news as fast "down under" as they would if they were next door to C-Net in San Francisco, and the difference in e-mail transmission time from to (say) England as opposed to New Zealand isn't measurable in human-meaningful increments.
So no matter where you are -- at least on this planet or a space vehicle that can receive e-mail from it -- you can keep up on the PDA and Palmtop marketplace by following AusOnline at least you can follow it by any other method.
Indeed, before buying a PDA or Palmtop, a fast perusal of the AusOnline archives would be a wise move. You can find them here.
