TIPWORLD is a smart idea targeted to those of us who want a one-stop place to sample and subscribe to technical newsletters. The Web site is that place. There you'll find archived samples of all their newsletters from A to Z. If you like the sample, you simply click on a form button to subscribe. Couldn't be easier, right?
The TipWorld site is produced by the folks at International Data Group, Inc. (IDG) who publish PCWorld. Much of the content of the newsletters come from PC World, as you would figure. But they also provide info from Wired News, Hotjobs.com, and WebShopper. Both the subscription service on the Web site and the newsletters are free.
What I particularly like about this idea is that there's no need to send an e-mail in yourself. Or to have to go from Web site to Web site to locate the kind of information you're after.
Here's a sampling of a couple lists they offer when I was exploring their site:
- Daily Digest from PC World
- Best Buys from PC World
- Computer News from PC World
- Nerd Word of the Day from Dummies Daily
- New Product Gossip
- The Internet Daily from CBS MarketWatch
- Wired News Daily
- Hotjobs.com(SM) Hot Job of the Day
- The Industry Standard's Media Grok
- Hot Products from WebShopper
- Software Update from WebShopper
- Windows 98
- Windows 95
- Windows NT
- Cool Web Site of the Day
- Hot Shareware
- Computer News from PC World
- Microsoft Office 97
There are scores of pages with lists like these to choose from whether your interested in gaming, hardware, software, the Web, or whether your interests or professional or lifestyle oriented. IDG has been in the publishing game a long time, and has a good take on what people who compute are interested to read about. The work is professional and informative.
So if you're looking for one source for a wide-range of newsletters, and have the time to read lots of newsletters, surf over to the TipWorld site and happy reading.
