Yes, it's another Linux week here at TechMailings. As I've mentioned before, all the newest and best lists have to do with Linux. There's a lot of garbage out there, but the best chances of finding quality come with Linux. This list is a good example of the specificity and relevance of the really good Linux lists.
The list is all about small distributions of Linux, like those that fit on a single floppy, or are less than 5MB, or other similar qualifications.
As usual, there is a lot of give and take on the list, with good questions and plenty of helpful advice. Here's a sample:
"I got small linux running on an old laptop I got. Actually, I modified it alot, but it's based on small linux. (now it runs elf and has the basic distro items like gcc and grep etc). The only thing missing is X. I got everything setup and whatnot, but wm2 complains about a bad window size and just halts there. What does this mean, and how can I fix it?"
