If you're a telecommuter, you are one of a growing number of workers who are going home for good. The Telecommuting Today newsletter is full of news headlines, advice, and commiseration. It's a good way to network with other home-office people. It gets lonely out there, sometimes.
Here's a little rant from the publisher that will sound vaguely familiar to you, oh work-at-home maven: "How many times have you heard that after you start telecommuting? All of the sudden your neighbors see you more often during the day at hours you used to be at the office. Then they ask you, "So, you quit your job?" When you try and explain that you are telecommuting or that you work at home they kind of give you this glazed over look. Then the next thing you know you are getting visits during the day for coffee or offers to go shopping with them, un-important phone calls or even your kids barging in whenever they want. It's hard to make people understand us telecommuters, especially for those who can't quite grasp the idea that someone will pay them to stay home all day. (Remember not everyone understands that you actually work all day).
The newsletter is published weekly, and comes replete with headlines, a classifieds section of dubious value, and best of all, a listing of telecommuting job openings.
