A List Apart is a weekly e-newsletter, all about Web design and the designers who make Web sites, that combines reader comments with editorial and outside news. You can get the newsletter via e-mail or visit the alistapart.com Web site to view the current issue or the archives.
The tone is chatty and conversational, but intelligent. I liked the Web site version because of the sleek graphics and eye-catching colors. The design works as an example for list members.
There are some very valuable resources in the newsletter, like the very detailed and well-written article on prototyping that was in the current issue, as well as a thought-provoking piece on Internet taxation.
Sometimes you find free things on the Internet, like this newsletter, that cause you to be amazed. How and why would these talented people offer something like this, gratis? Hows and whys aside, they've done it, so it's up to us to take advantage of their kindness.
