Aisling West News
The AISLING WEST NEWSLETTER is for the graphic designers and brand identity folks. It is produced by Aisling West Graphic Design up in Bend, Ore. A lady named Holly Newman writes this very upbeat newsletter which covers everything from health tips, since you designers spend so much time in the office, to a Web site Makeover of the Month contest.

I would think this newsletter goes to a very select audience, as there was not a lot of general interest material here. The issues I sampled made it a point to spotlight sites which Aisling West had designed and to tout ergonomic products and books which they offered through their subsidiary, North Press.

I am not suggesting that some of you might not learn a few things here, or get tips on ergonomic evaluations, articles, books and products. Rather, it seemed to me that this was geared toward people and companies already familiar with Aisling West Graphic Design.

Here's an excerpt from one of the editions in the online archive:

"WEB SITE MAKEOVERS - Makeover of the month

"Would you like your Web site featured on our Web site for a full month? We are now accepting Web site submissions for "Makeover of the month" at Aisling West. Winner will get a discounted fee for Web site services, a full write up in the next newsletter. On Aisling West's Web site, the feature will include screen shots captured and displayed - explaining steps and thoughts on how and why changes were made. We will feature the project from start to finish. Not only will you get a new site, but you will also gain exposure from our viewers! Makeovers are a blast and everyone enjoys them. Do you have a Web site you would like to have vitalized? Send us your URL, e-mail address, name, plus a brief description about why your Web site should be chosen to:

"******************************************
"ON THE HORIZON

"Woodchuck Construction - A Web site owned by a general contractor, which includes photos of past and present jobs. Excellent before and after images. Even a local company can benefit from a Web site, this being the perfect example. For all Woodchuck's future advertisements his URL will be included. People can go to his site, 'meet' the owner, see his work and learn more about his company. This will include an in-depth 'about us' page."
