This is a great little gem, hidden amongst the thorns and brambles of the rampantly prolific world of mailing lists. If you've been waiting for something truly useful with which to clutter your email inbox, here's a prime candidate.
You can thank me. I was the one who was willing to traverse the pointed barbs of the badlands to find this diamond and bring it back, unfettered by the debris of junk mail, directly to you.
Here are the basics of the group, according to the list owner:
"Welcome to all that have just recently joined our list.. we do hope somewhere along the line everyone finds something that is useful to them and will share the interesting software that they come acrost...."
"Feel free to suggest any software you find exceptional or a must have..... if your "thinking" of trying a particular software and you don't want to take the time downloading to find out its no good.... By all means ask the list... all it takes is a simple "Is xxxx any good ? is it worth the download?" or "is xxxx or yyyyy better?" or whatnot... when replying to a question like that please give your reasons as to what you like about it.. and dislikes are welcome as long as they are constructive criticism.... "xxxx software sucks" is not constructive.. something along the lines of "xxx was nice but it tends to use alot of resources or takes forever to load" is considered constructive... also if there is a program you are looking for.. you Know what you want it to do and just cant find the right thing... Ask some one may have just the program for you.... On a side note if you have your own programs you would like the list to check out Please submit them as well... exposure is the best advertising..."
"Please No attachments to the list... include the full url where users can find any programs you suggest. Feel free to view the archives for items you may have missed before subscribing... they can be found by going to http://www.onelist.com clicking on members center and clicking on 1stpicksoftware in your list then click on archives.. questions to previous mails are more then welcome if you missed them first time around.
"And finally if any one has any questions/suggestions please let us know....this list is moderated for the time being and may go unmoderated if the need arises at a later time."
