5STAR APPLICATIONS UPDATE is the free newsletter which accompanies the 5Star Applications Freeware and Shareware Web site for Windows 95, 98 and NT. It is one of the more comprehensive Windows Freeware and Shareware sites on the Web, is well designed, and offers downloads of just about everything except the kitchen sink.
Being a big proponent of both shareware and freeware, I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to this Web site, and highly recommend their newsletter. Why? Because if you are like me, you probably love getting or downloading a new cool tool. Also, if you are like me, you bookmark a lot of sites, then forget to go back to them.
I kick myself every time I scroll down my list of bookmarks and realize that:
- If it's a new bookmark at the bottom of my list I probably haven't even scrolled down that far in weeks, or
- It's been so long since I put the bookmark on my list that I can't tell by the site name why I even decided I liked it --- so I haven't gone back.
And that's where these e-mail newsletters and e-zines come in so handy. That little e-mail reminds us of great stuff on a site we've haven't visited lately. Yayy!
The 5Star Applications Update will inform you of new utilities or applications being added at the Web site, so that you can drop back by whenever that screen saver or anti-virus program you wanted to download is available or has been updated. And believe me, these folks will know.
