THE WEIRD SIDE E-ZINE is for all those among us who revel in the strange, the unusual, the shadow world which follows along as we stroll the sunny streets of our otherwise "normal" existence. If that's you, run, don't walk to the Weird Site and sign on to this mailing list. Not sure if that's you? Here's a test: do you like movies like "Man Bites Dog," "Blue Velvet," "Lost Highway," "From Dusk Til Dawn," "Dark City," or "Reservoir Dogs"? If you answered an enthusiastic "Yes!" you'll love this Web site and its newsletter.
Tech Mailings Guy confession time: I have seen *all* of the movies listed in the intro 'graph. I have seen some of them more than once. I also used to subscribe to Joe Bob Briggs' newsletter back in the days before he was on Turner Broadcasting, had just gotten his gig on The Movie Channel, and it was still called "We Are the Weird." So I was ga-ga for some of the features of The Weird Side E-Zine.
On their Web site you'll also fine the usual "general issue" mix, except it focuses on weird stuff. They have MP3 links, downloads to the Drunken Bastard Top 100 quotes, Weird Web Site Awards, a Weird Wild Woman feature, Weird News, you name it. The only thing missing is the original geek. You know: the guy who used to bite the chicken heads off at the carnival?
Here's a sample entry from their archives:
