Advertising Tips Weekly
ADVERTISING TIPS WEEKLY is one of the newsletters featured by the Zip Response Web site. Zip Response offers access to various "Micro-Zines" which cover topics from basic computing tips to business opportunities to cooking. There are daily horoscope and daily joke micro-zines there, too. If you have some area of interest, Zip Response probably has a daily micro-zine to fit it. But this review is only about Advertising Tips Weekly.

Just so you won't be confused, you won't find ATW listed as such on the Zip Response homepage. There it's called "Answers." Once you click through to the sample page for Answers, you will discover that's it's really Advertising Tips Weekly produced by Kim Skinner of AdvertisingTips.net. (I know, I was confused about this, too. You are not alone.)

There's an online archive where you can sample the types of material you can expect to receive from this newsletter. Here's a snippet from an edition I reviewed:

"Question #1

"hello

"i appreciate the your work and i have learned a great deal since i started receiveing your newsletter.

"my question is...how after making a web page can you save the page itself as an image to use on ads, postcards etc. i have seen this done. also is it possible to make your web page into your desktop wallpaper? again thanks.

"ANSWER

"Good question, Duane. I'll bet lots of people wonder how to do this. Including me. LOL.

"Actually, MY first thought would be to print up a copy of your web page, scan it, and save it as an image file. But, I'll bet there are easier ways. Anyone?

"Setting your page as desktop wallpaper is easy. Place your mouse somewhere on your page, where it's not on a link, right click, and on the menu that pops up, click 'Set As Wallpaper.'

From what I saw, Advertising Tips Weekly provides an easy way for people involved in Web promotions or building newsletters to pick Kim's brain and get weekly answers to their questions. Usually she runs about three or four questions a week, interspersed among the ads that support the newsletter. Check it out.
