Mindjack Magazine is a sassy, hip cyberculturistic look at the world of the Internet. The mailing list, which is sent twice a month to coincide with the publication of the e-zine, heralds each new issue with previews of current articles, features, and reviews.
The editorial isn't quite as hard-hitting as you'd expect, judging from the way the site presents itself. I found it to be a bit on the mild side, though my personal preferences run more towards jack-slap pontification - i.e., smack 'em upside the head and run. And isn't that what *you'd* expect from a publication called Mindjack?
That's not to say that Mindjack has no value. The reviews are the snappiest part of the zine. They kept me interested, whether or not I was interested in the product. Mindjack has a nice sized stable of contributing writers who seem to know what they're talking about. In other words, they have the "I'm a writer, so I'm an expert" facade down pat. The look is cool, and for the most part everything is grammatically correct.
The links section left me high and dry. Usually this is the one spot at a site where you can find some interesting offerings. But all you'll find here is the obvious--stuff we all already know.
