I-Mom
How could anyone resist a newsletter called I-MOM? It would be like saying that you don't like flowers and butterflies are not free. As soon as I saw this one I had to delve further. And I-Mom makes it easy by including a sample edition of the newsletter on the home page of the Mom's Network Exchange (MNE) Web site where you go to subscribe. The mission here is to be a resource for mothers who work at home, but the information is universal.

This newsletter offers great tips for women working from home while raising a family. Tech Mailings Guy thinks this is an excellent concept and that there should be more sites like this one. In fact, I'm willing to predict that you'll see a lot of copycats. But this is the original, it comes out weekly, and is extremely well done.

Unlike some of my other reviews, in this case I'm going to devote most of this space to a snippet of the content and let this newsletter speak for itself.

"I want to share an example of what a customer of mine has done. Lisa Bowe is an Independent Distributor for House of Lloyd. She took the time and effort to plan a well thought out site including an online store. She has chosen over 100 of the best selling items to include in her online store. Her site is there and open 24 hours a day for people to go to for information on her products, to purchase her products, becoming a hostess and about becoming a distributor. We worked together to build a site that would increase her business online. Take a look at what Lisa has done http://www.giftsbylisa.com

"She has continued to promote her business online by taking advantage of all the opportunities she has found where she can get her name and URL in front of others. For example - she is one of the people who offers the daily recipes for the MNE Daily, she is a message board contributor on many different women's sites. She has put her products in online auctions, she has participated in various contests which directly bring more traffic to her site - along with having her own monthly contest at her Gifts by Lisa site. Lisa is also active in online discussion forums. She does all of this while at the same time maintaining her successful business offline as well.

"Marketing your online business takes time. And it takes perseverance. It is more than just wishing you'd succeed. Just because you may not see results right away or the first time you attempt a new marketing strategy doesn't give you an immediate response - don't quit. To be blunt - if you aren't doing anything to continually promote your business online - then you really can't complain. If you expect to be successful online you need to spend time marketing and promoting just as you do offline. Why have the expense or take the time to develop a web site if all it is going to do is sit?..."

This is not brain surgery or fancy frills. It's just common sense advice that any Mom working at home could follow. And it doesn't clutter that e-mail box because it only comes out once a week. Check it out.
